Daniel/Danial

The name ‘Daniel/Danial’ is of Hebrew origin, meaning ‘the Lord is my judge’.
The variation between ‘Daniel’ and ‘Danial’ was previously explained for the name ‘Daniela/Daniala‘.
‘Danny’ is a diminutive for ‘Danial(a)/Daniel(a)’. It sounds exactly like the Arabic adjective meaning ‘close’, but it’s masculine. The feminine form of it is ‘Danya’.
