The name “Jodie/Judy” starts with a slight sound of “D”: “d-joh-dee”. That “D” sound is usually not written in Arabic because the name is quite popular and can be read in Arabic just like in English, no matter what version it is written in (with or without “D” or extra vowels). Besides, the letter “J” implies a slight “D” sound in Arabic, that some pronounce and others omit.

Are you considering Judy as similar to Judith (the english version of Yehudit)?

    No, Judith is written differently.
